My
Brothers,
Brothers, I thank you for your support of my election as Worshipful Master and fellow officers of the Lodge. We will labor hard for the craft. My goals for the next year are to increase participation by the membership, community involvement, and increase our membership. The Lodge Meetings will be shorter in length but not lacking in content and present some interesting programs.
I have formed a team of Brothers to assist me in this effort. I will introduce them at our meeting in January. A very brief presentation by this Team will be given describing the statistics of the lodge membership, age, attendance, location of our members, loss of members, etc. The resulting data led me to form this committee and to propose the following Programs which I trust will be interesting topics to the craft. The topics are: Black-Hawk Down, Roselyn Chapel, Your Heart and You, Health Insurance and Medicare, Wills – Trusts – Powers of Attorney, and Citizenship and Illegal Aliens. Most of the programs will be open to your family and friends.
In addition, I intend to have other events for you, your family and friends. In hopes of increasing family involvement in our Lodge.
I need your support and participation to create and develop a new excitement in our Lodge events. I would greatly appreciate your assistance and commitment
With Brotherly Love,
Mike

Brothers,
Welcome to a new year at Merritt Island Lodge! I hope all of you enjoyed a safe and Happy Christmas and New Year and, like me, are anxious to get started and see what the New Year brings. First and foremost I want to thank all of you for having the confidence to vote me as your Sr. Warden for 2012. Our (by now) Worshipful Master, Mike Elliott leaves some big shoes to fill. I’ll do the best I can to follow his example. It is also appropriate at this time to thank our now Junior Past Master for his hard work last year. I look forward to his input and advice as we carry on the Merritt Island tradition of Masonic excellence in 2012.
To begin our new year off on the right foot (hmmm, is that supposed to be left)
we will be hosting an Entered Apprentice Degree and initiating our new lodge members on January 26th. Please mark your calendars to come out and support initiating these soon to be brothers into the fraternity. The lodge will be opened at 7:00 PM sharp.
Again, thanks' for your vote. I look forward to a busy and rewarding year.
Fraternally,
Mike B.

My Brothers,
I want to thank the Craft for having confidence in me and to allow me to serve as your Junior Warden for 2012. As the New Year begins I have to first look back and thank all of the brothers for making our Holiday Dinner a wonderful experience for all. Bro. Mike B., John Z., Stan J…..are true examples of going above and beyond for the enjoyment and betterment of our Lodge. I wanted to personally thank you and the many other brothers who helped.
Going forward, I hope to continue with the same zeal and effort to bring you “scrumptious dinner”, “belt tightening breakfasts”, and “save room for dessert Steak Nights” along with numerous others. If you would like to try your hand at a favorite dish or like to just help serve your Lodge, please come tell me. We’ll have a great time and won’t go away hungry.
As a future endeavor, I would like to look into our disposable dish and silverware costs and compare them with the possibility of installing a dishwasher. This would allow us to utilize our fine china and real silverware regularly and save money in the long run.
And finally, I would like to thank Bro. Keith McGregor for accepting the position of Maintenance Engineer and Bro. Chris Davis as Kitchen Manager. If any brother sees an issue with the lodge, kitchen, or property that needs attention, contact them or myself so we can address it.
Fraternally,
Chip

To My Brothers,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! As I am writing this, we will have only 10 Brothers suspended for Non-Payment of Dues for 2011 and prior. Thanks to the efforts of Brother Jim Kendig, who pared the list down from a start of 52 second notices that had to be mailed out. Maybe we can be zero NPD's at the end of 2012. Brothers, if you need help with dues please call me and let's work something out. We (I) do not want to lose you as a Brother. If there are other issues, please call and we will learn what is not working the way we would all wish. I copied the following from another Lodge Secretary. "Dues renewal Notices for 2012 have been mailed (last October) Per our signature on our Petition for the Three Degrees, we agreed to pay dues for the ensuing year on or before December 28th of the current year (2011). Thank you to the many Brethren who have already remitted their dues for 2012.
From Mackey's Landmarks of Masonry: #16: There will be no interference between Lodges.
Respectfully,
Bill
